Accurate pregnancy diagnosis is important for an efficient cattle enterprise. The use of ultrasound allows us to age the pregnancy, detect twins and detect any problems such as cystic ovaries and endometritis (“whites”). Ageing the pregnancy can allow you to better manage your calving groups. Non pregnant cows can either be treated or culled rather than kept on as passengers.
